We are a non-profit organization dedicated to the hobby of Koi keeping in the Southern San Joaquin Valley. The sound of falling water and the mesmerizing Living Jewels, also known as Koi fish, compliment our climate, beautify your
Landscape, and provide hours of relaxation and enjoyment for the whole family.
The modern hobby of Koi keeping is about 200 years old, and, as you might have guessed, originated in Japan. Today, the hobby has spread throughout the globe. It is estimated that there are well over 1,000 ponds in our area alone!
Consider this….
Our club was founded because the caring of Koi and water gardening looks and sounds easy, and when done right it is. But without access to information and experience, it can be anything but easy. Too many people needlessly have lost Koi that they have named, or have pea soup water conditions and become disenchanted. There is no need for that.
Each month, we have a meeting and provide short presentations about what materials to consider in constructing a pond, the types of filtration available, all you need to know about aeration, what to feed and how to care for your fish, tips on purchasing new Koi, and most important what not to do. But above all else, we are a diverse group of people who just like to share our appreciation of a relaxing hobby with others.
We hope that you consider joining us at a meeting and see if you might be interested in becoming a member. Membership is $30 a year, a bargain that includes a monthly news letter and visit to 8 to 10 member’s ponds per year.
